Getting your e-mail in the GSE&IS Labs
There are two different ways that you can read your BOL E-mail in the labs.
Using the GSE&IS Web Mail Service
You can view your BOL mail by going to the GSE&IS Web Mail page http://www.gseis.ucla.edu/etu/mail.html,and clicking
on the link to BOL mail. You can also go directly to the CISsite to check your mail http://cis.ucla.edu/.
Setting up your own copy of Eudora Pro on the Home Server
It is straightforward and convenient to set up your BOL / Eudora Mail on the Home Server.
- Login to the computer. You will see your Home Server folder come up.

- Open the Utilities folder from the Hard Drive. Find the folder called "Eudora Mail" and drag it
to your folder.

- Open the "Eudora Mail" folder in your server folder. Double click on the item
called "Double-Click Here" to open Eudora Pro.

- Go to the special menu and choose "Settings."

- Click on the item called "Getting Started." Type in your Real Name where it says "Real name,"
your BOL username where it says "Username," and your e-mail address where it says "Return
address."

- Click on the item called "Checking Mail." Type in your BOL user id where it says
"Username."

- Click on the item called "Sending Mail." Type in your e-mail address where it says "Return
address."

- Click on the item called attachments. Click on the button in the middle right named
"Attachments Folder."

- From the pull down menu at the top, select "Students" (or Staff or Faculty). If it is not
available, choose "Desktop" and then select "Students" from the list of available items.

- Scroll down the list to find the folder with your username on it, for example, "jbruin." Double
click on the folder to open it.

- Find the folder called "Eudora Mail," and double click on it to open it.

- Find the folder called "Eudora Folder," and double click on it to open it.

- Find the folder called "Attachments Folder" and click on the "Use Folder" button.

- Click "OK." You're now ready to check your mail. Go to the File menu and select "Check
Mail."

- In the future, all you need to do is double click on the Eudora start-up alias in the Eudora
Folder (Step 3) to check your e-mail.
