About the GSE&IS 118 Lab

The computer lab in the GSE&IS Building, room 118consists of 20 powerful G3 Macintosh / Windows NTcomputers. They feature:

• 333 MHz G3 Macintosh processors
• 400 MHz AMD K6-2 processors
• 128 MB of RAM each side (256 MB total)
• Iomega Zip Drives
• Floppy Drives
• 24x CD-ROM Drives
• Ultra 2 SCSI, 9 GIG Hard Drive
• 100 MegaBit Fast Ethernet

The software installed in the GSE&IS Lab consists of many commonly used and popularapplications, including Microsoft Office, Netscape Navigator, and Eudora Pro. For more information,see the ETU SoftwarePage.

Windows NT in the GSE&IS Lab

The lab computers are outfitted with a software/hardware combination that allows both the Mac OS and Windows NT to run without any performance drawbacks. The hardware/software solution includes:

• An internal card to provide PC compatibility
• Macintosh software that allows you launch Windows NT

Windows NT is accessible through a Mac application called Orange PCi. The Using Windows NT in the GSE&IS Lab page gives details on connecting to and using Windows NT.

Please Note: You must log into Windows NT using your personal NT account. This logon is separatefrom the logon to get into the computer. Your account username and password is the sameas that of your lab account.
